Brita Visual Manual
Brita sells a range of filters and pitchers to college students every year. According to research around 8% of all US households have a Brita product. Thats around 10 million households.
The lack of clear instructions on Brita filters can lead to bacteria growth in systems. The Brita visual manual was designed to be included with every pitcher and water filter to enhance the performance of the filters. These manuals are frequently discarded with the box.
Storyboarding
One must clean, rinse, and repeat all materials three times before one can now quench their thirst. The steps to prepping a Brita were captured to aid my creative process first by grabbing photos of a user interacting with the Brita pitcher. It is common for users to ignore the detailed instructions provided and fail to clean or replace the Brita filter as recommended every two months. The visual manual is designed to illustrate proper washing techniques and filter replacement to help prevent frequent mold problems.
The name Brita was inspired by Heinz Hankammers daughters name in the 1960's.
